Submissions & Further AGEHR Info

AGEHR Publishing has resumed publishing with the very specific focus of supporting Handbell Musicians of America’s educational initiatives. AGEHR is seeking music designed to teach specific skills and concepts both in school settings and to those who are returning to bells after years away who require more foundational knowledge and instruction. AGEHR Publishing is only accepting submissions with the following criteria: 

  • Public Domain or original tunes
  • Settings are functional for both 2-3 octaves and 3-5 octaves
  • Level 1+/-2-
  • No more than 64 ms. (4 pages – 1 page turn)
  • Each title can include up to two techniques and 1 auxiliary technique (auxiliary technique not required)
  • Provide 1-2 instructional pages including an in-depth teaching plan (1-2 pages), including how to teach included techniques and pedagogical assistance for directors, specific breakdowns of suggested assignments and other details pertinent to performing the music at a high level.
  • Layers (stems up/stems down) should be included as part of the instructional material if applicable
  • Music, titles, and descriptions of techniques should be accessible for both children and adults of all ages.
