Membership in Handbell Musicians of America Now Offers More….

Membership in Handbell Musicians of America now offers more benefits, more resources, more value, and more opportunities to grow and improve your skills as a handbell musician.   As of October 1, 2012, a brand new set of on-line and interactive resources is available to our members.  In addition, we’ve added the My Membership Rewards program which provides periodic specials and discounts for Guild events, music, and merchandise.

*The Sub-Membership must be linked to a Handbell Musician Membership. Sub-member may attend events with the group associated with the Handbell Musician Membership only. **HIC Members may only apply for grants and scholarships, event endorsement, and have access chime-loan programs if they are recognized as a non-profit 501-C3 organization. ***If you are 65 years of age or older and ACTIVELY directing or leading a handbell/handchime program, then the Handbell Musician Membership is for you. However, if you 65 years or older and NOT actively ringing or directing, then the Retired Handbell Musician Membership is your best option.

Membership Options

Handbell Musician Membership

$85 per year or $7.50 per month†This membership is for either an individual or an organization. If for an individual, that person may identify ONE organization that may also receive the benefits of the membership. If for an organization, that organization must identify one individual as the primary contact for the membership.

• Access to all general membership benefits*
• One vote in Area and national elections
• One print subscription to Overtones, our bimonthly journal
• Participation in My Membership Rewards, a program which provides periodic discounts and coupons to events, merchandise, and other Guild resources
• Member discount for group-focused events (for handbell/handchime choirs affiliated with the member organization)
• Member discount for individual-focused events, such as Distinctly Bronze and Master Series (for the individual member or primary contact of the organization member)
• $10 rebate to the Area where the member reside

Handbell Musician Sub-Membership

$10 per year, no monthly optionThis membership is for an individual member of an organization that has an existing Handbell Musician Membership.

• Individual access to online resources (through a separate ID and password)
• Linked to primary membership (will renew at the same time as primary membership and will lapse if primary membership lapses)
• No voting privileges
• May not attend individual-focused events such as Distinctly Bronze and Master Series

Handbell Industry Council Membership

$170 per year or $15 per month†This membership is for businesses and organizations that provide products and services to the handbell/handchime community and wish to exhibit and/or market these products and services to the community.

• Access to all general membership benefits*
• One vote in Area and national elections
• One print subscription to Overtones, our bimonthly journal
• All general HIC membership benefits including, but not limited to, access to set up booths at local, Area and national events in designated vendor areas
• $10 rebate to the Area where the primary business address is located

Retired Handbell Musicians of America Musician Membership

$65 per year or $5.75 per month†This membership is for the handbell musician, aged 65 years or older, who is no longer actively directing or leading a choir or handbell/handchime program.

• Access to all general membership benefits*
• One vote in Area and national elections
• One print subscription to Overtones, our bimonthly journal
• Option to attend any national and/or Area events as an individual at member discounted price
• Participation in My Membership Rewards, a program which provides periodic discounts
  and coupons to events, merchandise, and other Guild resources
• Includes $10 rebate to the Area where the member resides

Full-Time Student Membership

$30 per year, no monthly optionThis is an individual membership and is for the handbell musician that is a full-time college or high school student.

• Access to all general membership benefits*
• Member discount for any national or Area event (for an individual)
• Access to online resources and benefits
• Participation in My Membership Rewards, a program which provides periodic discounts and coupons to events, merchandise, and other Guild resources
• Online access to Overtones, our bi-monthly journal
• Includes $5 rebate to Area
