Help Our Friends in Puerto Rico

|

We have many members and fellow handbell musicians in Puerto Rico who are suffering and struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.  Many still need basic items to survive as they work to rebuild their lives.  Following are a few ways you can help.  We will continue to add to this list as we learn of more.

Second Union Church

Our member, Carlos Rivera, is coordinating relief efforts through his church.  Second Union is in a position to get aid directly to people with immediate need.  To assist in these efforts, they have set up a donation page for cash contributions and a Wish List on Amazon.com so those who want to help can send items directly to the church in Puerto Rico.  If you send gifts of cash or supplies to Second Union, please include a note mentioning Carlos and Handbell Musicians of America.

Scholarships to National Seminar

Our members Carlos Rivera and Carmen Jimenez have both shared that there are handbell musicians in Puerto Rico who would like to attend National Seminar 2018 in Grand Rapids next July, but due to the hurricane, will likely not have the funds to do so.  To assist these musicians, we have set up a temporary scholarship fund for this event to cover costs of travel and registration.
